Panathinaikos scored the first goal of the match in the 62nd minute, and Zini, an AEK Athens player, equalised in the 72nd minute.
To be crowned champions, AEK needed to win and hope for a draw between PAOK and Olympiakos, who finished the match 1-1.
AEK now have 70 points, eight points clear of PAOK and Olympiakos. The club where the Portuguese player features has now won 14 Greek league titles, their second in four seasons, with Olympiakos holding the record with 48 trophies.
